Hiking Trails
These hiking trails are located near Moab – all suitable for half day outings.
Amphitheatre Loop Trail
22 miles east of Moab on the Utah scenic Highway 128. The trails starts at the Hittle Bottom Campground. The length of the hike is 3 miles; located near the Colorado River.
Fisher Towers Trail
21 miles east of Moab on Highway 128. Drive 2.2 miles on an improved dirt road to the parking lot. The length of the hike is 2.2 miles one way and will give you views of the Fisher Towers, Onion Creek area, the Colorado River, Castle Valley, and Fisher Mesa.
Negro Bill Canyon Trail
Located 3 miles east of Highway 128. On this 2 mile hike a creek crossing is necessary. This hike is perfect on hot summer days.
Portal Overlook Trail
Located 4.2 miles west on Utah Highway 279 at JayCee Park Recreation Site. The length of the hike is 2 miles to Portal Overlook with views of the Moab Valley, La Sal Mountains and the Colorado River.
